Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief III (ESSER III) funds are provided to state educational agencies and school districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation's students. Winnebago CUSD #323 is projected to receive $3,153,985 in ESSER III grant funds and all funds must be expended by September, 2024.

● Required and Allowable Uses

● Prevent, prepare, and respond to COVID in collaboration with other agencies

● Meet the needs of disadvantaged students

● Planning for long-term closures including extended remote learning

● Improve remote learning*

● Address student learning deficit due to COVID (20%)*

● Purchase educational technology

● Extended day programs (including transportation)

● Extended year programs (including transportation)

● Social-emotional learning and mental health activities

● Activities necessary to maintain the operation and continuity of services and continuing to employ existing staff

● Facility repairs and improvements to enable operations of the school to reduce risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards

● Improve indoor air quality
