School Board Seats up for Election on April 4, 2023
Winnebago Community Unit School District #323 will have five school board seats – four 4-year terms expiring April 2027 and one 2-year unexpired term expiring April 2025 - to be filled at the April 4, 2023, consolidated election.
Candidates must be United States citizens, a resident of Winnebago Community Unit School District #323, at least 18 years of age, and registered voters.
No more than three school board members may serve from any one township within the district.
Candidates can begin circulating nominating petitions for signatures beginning Tuesday, September 20, 2022. The period for filing all candidate paperwork at the Winnebago County Clerk’s Office, 404 Elm Street, Suite 104, Rockford, IL runs from December 12 to December 19, 2022. Paperwork can no longer be accepted at the Winnebago School District Office.
A limited number of candidate packets are available at the Winnebago School District Office, 304 E McNair Road, Winnebago, IL during regular office hours – 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The Winnebago County Clerk’s Office has forms available, or the 2023 Candidate’s Guide, which includes the required forms can downloaded from the State Board of Elections website - https://www.elections.il.gov/ under Running for Office.
