Fooball team hosts Lift-A-Thon on July 18

The Winnebago Football team hosts its annual Lift-A-Thon on Sat., July 18 at the Winnebago High School. The Lift-A-Thon  raises money for equipement needs for the team. You can support a player by making a flat donation or by pledging amount per pound. There are three cummulative lifts they will be doing which include the bench, squat and dead lift.

New student registration held on Aug. 12

WINNEBAGO – Winnebago is hosting a new student registration in each school office on Wed., August 12, 2009 from 8:00 a.m.-3:00p.m.

Winnebago staff and students bid farewell to retiring staff members. The retirees taught collectively for over 190 years at Winnebago. Through these years of teaching they are seeing former students return to their classrooms – as parents of current students.

Winnebago reflects on exciting year in extracurriculars

What a great year for Winnebago! Thank you to the community, parents, coaches, students and staff for always supporting all of our athletics and activities. Winnebago truly exemplifies the word "community" and every accomplishment this year is a reflection of that spirit.

Boys Track team takes second at state meet

The WInnebago High School boys track team made a return visit to the state meet this weekend in Charleston at O'Brien Stadium. After placing third last year the team improved to second in state this year with 37 total points. “Our kids find ways to be successful,” coach Joe Erb said. “Across the board, we have a competitive spirit in our school.”

School fee structure changes

All registration packets are being sent home with students this year instead of being mailed. There is a change in the fee structure at the middle and high schools. Instead of listing numerous line items for course expenses, there is one overall instructional and materials fee for each student.

Middle School students complete community service hours

Eight Winnebago Middle School students successfully completed the requirements of Community Recognition Honor, a new program initiated this school year. The Community Recognition Honor program focuses upon community service, academic improvement, and letter writing.
