Dorothy Simon Back to School Night August 22

It is that time of year again when we open our doors to welcome students and their families to a new school year. I am extremely honored and excited to be a part of the Winnebago School District and look forward to working together with you and your children’s teachers to create an excellent educational experience for our students. 

WHS Calculator Recommendations

The WHS Math Department requires a TI-84 calculator (any model) for Stats and Calc classes, and the TI030XIIS is recommend for all other math classes.  (Please note that students are not allowed to use a TI-30XS Multiview.) Current prices in the area: TARGET:  TI-84 Plus CE is $89.99

McNair Elementary Announces Back to School Night and Open House August 22

McNair Elementary’s Back to School Night and Open House are scheduled for Tuesday, August 22, to give everyone a chance to stop by the school before the school year begins! The PTO sponsored event will take place from 5-6:30 p.m.   

WHS New Student Orientation August 21 at 6:30 p.m.

A orientation for all new students including all incoming freshman will be held in the WHS cafeteria on Monday, August 21 beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Following a short introduction conducted by WHS staff, students will have the opportunity to locate  their classes and lockers.   School staff will be present to answer any questions students or families might have.

WHS Schedules available beginning August 16

Schedules for all Winnebago High Students will be available in the main office beginning on Wednesday, August 16 at 8 a.m. Students are invited to come in to get their schedule, locker number and combination anytime the main office is open after August 16.  Office hours are 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 23.

Jean McNair St. Jude Math-a-Thon

This year, Jean McNair fourth graders are showing that they can make a difference by participating in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon.  All money raised will benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  St. Jude treats children who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases, and no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
