Student of the Week Recognized at Jean McNair Elementary School

Jean McNair Elementary students were recognized on Fri. Mar., 6, with Student of the Week honors.  The students are selected based on demonstration of McNair Pride, putting forth exceptional effort in the classroom, or showing overall improvement in academics or behavior.

PTO Family Fun Night March 13

The Winnebago PTO will be holding their annual Family Fun Night on Friday, March 13 at Jean McNair school for 6 - 8 p.m. Spring is almost here so lets celebrate by everyone sporting their favorite Green outfit. There will be a DJ, fun, food and games throughout the night. Be creative and have fun!

Cold Canyon Candle orders and payments due TODAY March 6. Please turn money and forms into your child's school office.

Elementary School Kidz School Supply Kits money is due on March 11. Pick up date is May 19. 

Jean McNair student's art display artwork at the Rockford Art Museum

Jean McNair student's Art projects will be in the Rockford Art Museum's 74th Annual Young Artist Show.  The artwork will be displayed at the Rockford Art Museum from April 12 -  May 17.

WHS Math Team placed 4th at the annual ICTM Regional Math competition

Jean McNair Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Max M., who will represent McNair at the Regional Spelling Bee.  Max correctly spelled the words absolutely and ashamed.  Congratulations, also, to Allyson Z., who is our runner-up.

On Wednesday afternoon, February 25, Jean McNair Elementary fifth graders competed in the local Spelling Bee to see who would be representing Jean McNair at the Regional Spelling Bee to be held on Wednesday evening, March 25, at Harlem High School.

Indians Head to Farmington For IHSA Class 2A Sectional

The Winnebago Indians Boys Basketball team will be heading to Farmington to compete in the IHSA 2A Sectional Title game on Friday, March 6 at Farmington High School. 

WHS gears up for Inspire Change Week 2015

For the past three years WHS students and staff participated in a Pay it Forward/Inspire Change Week during March. It stemmed from a desire to help students at WHS cope with the loss of their good friend Cole Trusler in December 2011 from a car accident, as well as another classmate, Ben Johnson who passed away in May of 2010 from Nueroblastoma, a childhood cancer.
