Winnebago Public Library offers library cards and introduces Zinio Online Digital Magazines

The Winnebago Public Library (WPL) and Winnebago High School have partnered together to offer a new program called Zinio, aka "the world's largest newstand." This service allows libraries to purchase subscriptions to selected magazines and make them available for FREE to holders of library cards.

Prairie Cat Encore Interlibrary Loan

WHS Students can access Prairie Cat Encore at school or at home to search, find and print request forms for books from participating RAILS libraries. Students are allowed two weeks to check out materials once they arrive, and can also renew materials. Overdue materials from interlibrary loan cost $.50 a day. Students are responsible for the cost of materials that are lost or damaged.

The key to being a savvy online searcher is to use common search techniques that you can apply to any database or electronic resource. After you have narrowed down your topic to a specific issue, think of different words, phrases and synonyms that describe your topic.
