Erin's Law Presentations at WMS

Winnebago Middle School is in partnership with you regarding your child’s safety. In 2013, the state of Illinois passed Erin’s Law, a national mandate for sexual abuse prevention education for students in grades K-12. This year, middle school students will be participating in classroom presentations conducted by Rockford Sexual Assault

WMS 2017-2018 Second Quarter Honor Roll

Winnebago Middle School would like to congratulate our students earning High Honor Roll and Honor Roll for second quarter of the 2017-2018 school year!! 

No School February 16 and February 19

No School for Winnebago students on Friday, February 16 due to a School Improvement Day. No School for Winnebago Staff and Students on Monday, February 19 in observance of Presidents Day Holiday. All school offices will be closed.

Classes will resume Tuesday, February 20.

WMS Mother Son Bowling March 9

Winnebago Middle School Mother Son Bowling has been  RESCHEDULED for Friday, March 9.  Tickets are on sale now the office WMS office. The cost for bowling is $20 per couple. Lane signups will start at 7 p.m. Bowling begins at 7:30 p.m.

Class of 2022 Freshman Orientation February 26

Freshmen Orientation for the incoming Class of 2022 will be held at Winnebago High School at 6 p.m. on Monday, February 26. The WHS Academic Advisors will present registration information and materials for the 2018-2019 school year to 8th grades students on February 21 and 22 in science classes.

Winnebago PE Students rank as some of the best in the State of Illinois

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, the ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) has required all school districts in the State of Illinois to begin fitness testing in four areas for 3 -12th graders. The four areas are aerobic capacity, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility. 

Winnebago CUSD #323 Building-Bond referendum Information

On March 20, 2018, community members of Winnebago Community Unit School District #323 will vote on a building-bond referendum question, which focuses on critical items mandated by the Health/Life Safety process.

WMS Career on Wheels

Winnebago Middle School sixth grade students listened to various careers on wheels. Lonnies Carpet Max, Winnebago County Corner, Schwan's Driver, WREX TV Morning crew and Winnebago Police Department educated WMS sixth graders on their career choice.

The We Day Crew and students of Winnebago Middle School collected approximately 500 pounds of food during their We Scare Hunger food drive. All donations are being delivered to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
