The Illinois Assessment of Readiness test, formerly known as the PARCC test, has begun at the state level and will be taken by students at Jean McNair Elementary beginning the week of April 8.  Please see the following letter for more information and specific testing dates.

Vision and Hearing Screen for Elementary Students

Your Dorothy Simon or Jean McNair child may be given vision and hearing screenings this school year 2018-19. Vision screening is not a substitute for a complete eye and vision evaluation by an eye doctor. You will be notified if your child does not pass the screening. If your child passed, this screening should not replace an eye appointment with an eye doctor.

Jean McNair Food Allergy Information

Food allergies are a growing concern in schools across America. Millions of children - children who are perfectly healthy and normal in every other way – must watch every single bite they eat, or risk suffering a severe or even life threatening reaction. In fact, food allergies claim over 200 lives and are responsible for over 30,000 emergency room visits each year.
