iBelong Comes to Jean McNair Elementary School

The iBelong program, a disability awareness program is being presented to students in grades 3-5 at Jean McNair Elementary through RAMP CIL and sponsored by the Winnebago PTO and the Winnebago Lions Club.  Lessons began the week of September 10 and will end the week of November 27.

The 10-week program is being presented by a trained instructor from RAMP to twelve individual classrooms each week.  The iBelong lessons will be focused and scaffolded to include character building with a focus on acceptance and disability awareness, believing in oneself, and creating an understanding of how one's actions and attitudes affect others.  In addition, each grade level is learning some basic sign language from the instructor."   Pictured are some students from Mrs. Wandell's 4th grade classroom at Jean McNair Elementary School, with Jim Morrison, Winnebago Lion's Club, Alice Daniels, RAMP CIL, and Jenny Rossol, Winnebago PTO.
