General Registration Information

The Winnebago School District will be using mail-in registration again this year for all students and families who already attend Winnebago schools.  Registration materials for students currently in grades K-4 will be sent home with report cards at the end of this school year.  Registration materials for students currently in grades 5-11 and PreK (early childhood) will be mailed to homes approximately June 27, 2008.

The district will again be implementing a system for payments this year in partnership with www.efundsforschools.com to allow parents to pay for school fees online by Visa, MasterCard, or direct ACH debit to a checking account.  More information will be included in your registration packets or you can find further explanation and instructions on our website at www.winnebagoschools.org/registration

All families with children currently enrolled in the Winnebago school district are asked to use the mail-in registration process to register for the 2008-2009 school year. Registration forms and payments will be due back to the district by July 14, 2008.  This will allow adequate time for the district to process payments, make necessary schedule changes, route busses and make class assignments.

Any schedule changes that need to be made for high school and middle school students will need to be done by appointment only, starting August 13th.

For frequently asked questions, forms, and updated registration information, please access the district web site at www.winnebagoschools.org/registration

As soon as they are available from the federal government, applications for free and reduced lunches will be available for pickup at the district office or can be downloaded and printed from www.winnebagoschools.org/registration.   Completed applications can be mailed to or brought to the district office for the approval process.  If you qualify for free lunch, most registration fees are waived.

Transportation Information

For information on transportation for the 2008-2009 school year, please refer to our Transportation page. There, you will find the 2008-2009 form to sign up for transportation, District Maps, answers to frequently asked questions, and bus rules to review with your children.

Physicals Information

A "full" physical examination is required for students entering preschool, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade.   This examination includes a full review of body systems and past medical history, vision and hearing screening, sometimes blood work, and (always) immunization/vaccination records.  These physicals are required for your child to be allowed to attend on the first day of school.  A "full" physical must be completed on the Illinois Department of Public Health's standard physical form for preschool, Kindergarten, 5th, and 9th graders. Your doctor's office will have these forms.

Misplaced Registration Packets?

We highly suggest doing a thorough search to find your lost packet before asking for a replacement.  It takes a great deal of time and district resources to put together packets containing all information including student-specific information for parents to fill out and return, so we appreciate the time and cost savings of not having to replace packets.

There will be extra packets available for pick up at the District Office over the summer months, however they will not contain any specific information for your child (including class schedules, fee statements, and demographics). If you are in need of a replacement schedule or fee statement, they will be available for pickup in the High School office Monday-Friday, 7am to 11am. Replacement registration packets will not be mailed.
