Remote Learning Guidance for Next Week

Attached you will find additional information on our remote learning plans and our Chromebook checkout plan for next week.  As always as new information becomes available we will share it with everyone.

Remote Learning Guidance to Winnebago Parents

March 26 Update to Winnebago Families

During our school closure the Winnebago School District will provide weekly lunch supplies that can be picked up each Tuesday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. free of charge for our students on the south side of the High School Door E (near the HS gym).

March 19 Update to Winnebago Families

Next week is Spring Break and Crossroads Church has agreed to hand out week long lunch supplies on Monday 3/23 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM free of charge for our students on the south side of the High School Door E (near the HS gym).  In an effort to get an accurate count please email Superintendent John Schwuchow (schwuchowj@winnebagoschools.org) directly if your family is interested.   

March 18 Evening Update to Winnebago Families

Remote learning packets are available for Dorothy Simon Elementary, Jean McNair Elementary, and Winnebago Middle School in the entryway of Jean McNair Elementary from 2-4pm Thursday and Friday of this week.

March 18 Morning Update to Winnebago Families

March 17 Update to Winnebago Families

Today families of students should have received communication from building leaders regarding home learning resources.

We are sending out a phone survey this evening beginning at 6pm regarding available devices and Internet access in the homes of our students to help us plan for possible next steps.

March 16 Update to Winnebago Families

The District will be providing lunch supplies on Tuesday 3/17 from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. free of charge for our students and families from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on the south side of the High School Door E (near the HS gym).  

On Tuesday 3/17 your building leaders will be providing educational resources for our students and additional guidance on remote learning via School Messenger.  

March 15 Update to Winnebago Families

As we continue to work through this fluid situation, the following is guidance for tomorrow and the next several days.

School Closure

Winnebago Schools will be closed Monday, March 16.

Other than this change, the previous information posted regarding the closure remains in effect.

Governor Pritzker has issued a directive that all schools will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17 through Monday, March 30.  

COVID-19 Update - 3/12/20

The Winnebago County Health Department has made a recommendation to suspend social and public gatherings out of an abundance of caution for the community and to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Their recommendation did not include canceling school or child-care programs. As such, please see the following precautions that will go into effect beginning Friday, 3/13/2020.
